MSI released its premium socket LGA 1151 motherboard for the mini-ITX form-factor, the Z170I Gaming Pro AC. This new motherboard offers a premium feature set, including support for dual-channel DDR4 memory, with MSI’s DDR4 Boost technology and it draw power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors with a 5-phase VRM.
The motherboard has expansion slots include a PCI-Express 3.0 x16, an mPCIe (for the WLAN card), and an M.2 (reverse side of the board), with PCI Express 3.0 x4 wiring. Storage connectivity includes an M.2 slot (reverse side of the PCB), with 32 Gb/s PCIe bandwidth and four SATA 6 Gb/s connector. Display outputs include one each of DisplayPort and HDMI. The onboard audio solution packs an 8-channle 115 dBA SNR codec.
The MSI Z170I Gaming features red and black color accent that will bring the aesthetic level to maximum. Besides that, the top heatsink blocks the 8-pin EPS port, but they raise the height for the heatsink, and this wouldn’t be a problem if the heatsink is high enough or you need to bend your cable in order to plug it in. We really hope motherboard manufacturers will increase fan connector to be more than three at least because two is definitely not enough.
The date and price for the MSI Z170I Gaming Pro AC haven’t been unveiled yet, we will update you with the latest news when we get it.
